Long-term literacy success and academic achievement.
A structured literacy approach is a systematic and explicit method of teaching reading that emphasizes the understanding of the relationships between sounds (phonology), letters (orthography), and meanings (semantics). This approach includes several key components, such as phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, reading fluency, and comprehension strategies.
I provide lessons that focus on the five key areas of literacy but target the specific skills that your child shows the greatest need. Using a highly engaging and revolutionary lesson delivery platform, lessons are delivered using engaging, mulitsensory tools and strategies that help students focus and actively engage in their own learning.
The Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach is a structured, multisensory method used to teach reading, writing, and spelling, particularly beneficial for individuals with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. It was developed in the 1930s by Dr. Samuel T. Orton, who was a neurologist, and Anna Gillingham, an educator and psychologist.
